LINSDBORG, KAN. —Bethany College invites community members to participate in a January course titled, “A Swedish Perspective on World Politics.” Visiting Swedish Professor Thomas Wennstam will focus the discussion on world politics, a phrase he believes is “more inclusive than either of the alternative terms,” international politics or international relations.

Wennstam currently lives in Karlstad, Sweden, where he teaches political science at Karlstad University. His expertise includes Swedish political systems, public administration, media and mass communication and international relations. Wennstam earned his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in political and social sciences from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. A published author, he has also served as chairman of The Foreign Policy Association of Karlstad and the Karlstad unit of the United Nations Association of Sweden.

The three-credit hour course will be offered January 13-26 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday through Friday. Part-time students auditing the course will pay $60 per credit hour while senior citizens 55 years or older will be charged $30 per credit hour.
