I woke up early this morning excited for the amazing weather we are about to have. When I opened my, soon to be canceled, Salina Journal, I see that the city approved giving $750k to Philips?

1. How do we have $750k to give to a private company?

2. Can I walk into the City Commission meeting and get $750K for my business?

3. Since when do we just give out money and not have public discourse about it?

When we are cutting into school budgets and nearly every other program we have NO business handing out 3/4 of a million to one company. How about we help out those who provide the most jobs in our community – SMALL BUSINESS.

It’s time to call for the jobs of our city manager and our city commissioners that voted for this.
