Come Monday morning, there will be a new Internet radio choice, thanks to Kansas Wesleyan University.

At 6 a.m. Monday (February 14, 2011), Kansas Wesleyan will launch KKWU, which can be found at www.kkwuradio.org. A variety of student DJs will host their own shows throughout the schedule.

“This will be a great learning experience for our students,” said Paul Green, an Instructor and Media Production Manager in the Department of Communication Studies and Theatre Arts. “They will create their own shows. Additionally, they all will be posting content to the station’s website and will be using social media tools while on the air.”

The station’s offerings will include a variety of musical genres, including Alternative, Rock, Hip Hop, Urban, R&B, Techno, Soundtracks, World Music, Dance, Ambient, Soul, Green said. Additionally, there will be a Sports Talk component; a Reader’s Theatre, featuring spoken word, drama, and humor; and a show that mixes music with KWU current events.
