K-State Salina’s Radio Control Club to Host Fun Fly

SALINA — Airplanes, helicopters and blimps will fill Kansas State University at Salina’s Student Life Center on Saturday, Feb. 19, during the Fun Fly, hosted by K-State Salina’s Radio Control Club. Area enthusiasts are encouraged to fly free flight and radio-controlled aircraft or just come observe any time between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

The Student Life Center’s gymnasium provides a 100-by-120 feet area with ceilings 40 feet high for flying that is protected from the elements.

The club recommends that pilots use 2.4 GHz radios; 72 MHz are welcome but will be coordinated to prevent jamming.

Pilot registration is $5. Adult spectators are $3, teenagers are $1, and children 12 and under are free with adult supervision.

For more information contact Andrew Smith at 785-826-2682.
