Kansas Governor Sam Brownback released the following statement today in response to the Kansas Department of Labor’s January 2011 Labor Report.
“These unemployment numbers show Kansans are still hurting. That’s why our top priority must be to create new private sector jobs,” Gov. Brownback said.
The January 2011 unemployment rate in Kansas was 7.4 percent, up from 6.4 percent in December 2010 but down from 7.9 percent in January 2010. You can learn more about the report at https://www.dol.ks.gov/LMIS/newsrel/pr1101/pr1101.html.
