April 1, 2011 (Salina, Kansas) – It’s a day of caring, it’s a day to feel good. On Saturday April 9th The Volunteer Connection in partnership with Serving Salina Together will host another community work day in North Salina.
Volunteers will gather at 8 a.m. to offer their time, skills and muscle to help those living north of Elm Street who are physically or financially not able to complete projects themselves. Volunteers are asked to bring gloves and protective equipment. Volunteers willing to provide a pick-up truck and/or trailer for transporting trash to designated disposal sites are especially needed.
Civic clubs, churches, schools, businesses and individuals of all ages are invited to serve together for the common good of all Salina. Many businesses are donating equipment and assistance to collect trash and recycle metal.
Individuals, churches, organizations, and groups wanting to volunteer their time from 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, April 9, 2011, can call the Volunteer Connection at 823-3128, or send an email to admin@nckvc.com for more information and to obtain a registration form.
