Concert Preview: David Allan Coe
THE MUSE BALLROOM 1700 W BEVERLY DR SALINA
Time: 8:00PM Thursday, April 21st
by Scott Woodson
The first time I saw David Allan Coe live was back in 1991 when I was still a very young pup in the radio business. In fact, I was just old enough to get in to the show. I had listened to his songs for years, “Willie, Waylon and Me”, “The Ride”, “You Never Even Called Me By My Name”; all were country classics even back in 1991. At the time, I didn’t know how long such songs would endure and how they are still played on the radio. That night, I also learned what a great song writer David Allan Coe is when he sang his version of the song “Take This Job and Shove It”. Yes, he wrote it. It is one of the most played songs ever on the radio.
Tonight, David Allan Coe, will bring these immortal tunes and others to life on stage at the Muse Ballroom at 1700 W. Beverly Dr. here in Salina. Doors open at 6pm and the show will kick off sometime after 8pm. Tickets are still available and you can save money by getting them in advance for only $22 at the CD Tradepost or The House of Sight and Sound and also available online at TicketStorm.com. VIP tickets are still available but limited at $45 in advance.
Sister Whiskey will also perform. All Ages are welcome, but I would advise Parental Discretion.
The last time I saw David Allan Coe was just a few years ago and the fact is, he hasn’t lost a step. He still performs with all the energy and heart he did several years ago, and he generally puts on a show well worth the price. Have a great time!
