TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — A small airplane registered to a seed company has crashed in a field in north-central Kansas, killing four people.
The Federal Aviation Administration says the six-seat Beechcraft was headed to Topeka’s Phillip Billard Airport from Scott City. The crash occurred late Friday morning about 3 miles northeast of Topeka.
Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Herrig told The Topeka Capital-Journal the plane crashed in a field near Kansas Highway 4.
FAA records show the plane is registered to Precision Ag & Seed Services LLC in Scott City.
