KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – An avid Kansas basketball fan who lives in Missouri didn’t plan on his prized threads from the Jayhawks2008 championship season ending up in a police evidence locker.
But that’s where the shorts and T-shirt Jason Chambers wore for every game that year ended up after a naked man broke into his house and put them on.
Chambers was moving out of his home in Springfield, Mo., and had left the clothing there to move later so it didn’t get wrinkled or damaged by being packed too hastily.
But they are a little tattered now after a 45-year-old man last week encountered a police dog while hiding in the attic of
Chambers’ house.
The Kansas athletics department says it has sent Chambers a package after hearing of his loss.
