Saline County Jail Inmate Charged With Solicitation To Commit Murder of Law Enforcement Officer

A 32 year old Wichita man in the Saline County Jail awaiting trial for cocaine sale last summer, now facing an additional charge of criminal solicitation to commit murder.

Salina Police Chief Jim Hill says Kendrick Davis on two occasions, once in March and again in April tried to talk another inmate at the jail to kill the undercover officer who bought cocaine from him last August before he could testify in court at Davis trial which is scheduled to begin Tuesday in Saline County District Court.

Davis was arrested on the solicitation to commit murder charge Friday afternoon in jail. His bond in that charge is $1million.

Davis is also wanted for probation violation in Reno County on cocaine sale convictions there. Chief Hill also said during the investigation that Davis said he wanted the officer tortured before he was killed.

Chief Hill referred any questions in the case to the Saline County Attorney’s Office.
