HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) – A 70-year-old Hutchinson man with an addiction to toxic vapors has been sentenced to nearly three years in prison for stealing paint thinner from a hardware store.
Reno County District Judge Tim Chambers said he felt the sentence would benefit and perhaps protect Kenneth Frick. It’s the second time Frick has been sent to prison for crimes stemming from his abuse of toxic vapors.
The Hutchinson News reports he previously got a year in prison for felony criminal threat and abuse of toxic vapors after being arrested at a Westlake Hardware store.
Frick pleaded guilty last month to burglary stemming from the theft of paint thinner from the same store in April 2010. Chambers said it appeared Frick had been sniffing toxic vapors most of his life.
