According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, an off-duty Trooper was killed near Emporia Thursday night.

17-year-old Gumaro Reyes, Emporia, stopped on US 50, he then pulled into the intersection and out in front of a  motorcycle driven by off-duty Trooper Beau Wallace, 30.

Reyes was transported to Newman Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
