TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Two former inmates who claim they were forced to engage in sex with employees at a Topeka prison, have filed a federal lawsuit against the state Department of Corrections.

The Topeka Correctional Facility employees in the lawsuit were dismissed by the KDOC after evidence of misconduct surfaced. Both were prosecuted in Shawnee County District Court and found guilty of having unlawful sexual relations with at least one female inmate at the East Topeka prison.

John Kurtz, a Kansas City lawyer representing former inmates Tracy Keith and Rebecca Fleetwood declined to comment.

Jan Lunsford, spokesman for the Kansas Department of Corrections, also said the department does not discuss lawsuits that are pending.
