Once again the GOP and its politicians are playing the same ole game of double talk and deception.
Gov. Brownback, when he was running for office, told us Obama Care was unconstitutional, would destroy our budget and ruin the private insurance market and that he would oppose it. Before he even took office he gave the Insurance Commissioner the “informal” approval to ask the federal government for a multi-million dollar grant that would marry Kansas to Obama Care. Brownback literally could not even make it into office before he broke his main campaign promise.
Once in office he had to jump through a hoop for Kathleen Sebelius to get the $31.5 million grant but he did it. Before he was in office even two months he accepted a grant that required Kansas to implement Obama Care and for the second time broke his main campaign promise. To do so hurt the Kansas lawsuit against Obama Care. It also broke the Kansas GOP platform.
I have seen half a dozen identical form letter responses from the Governor to citizens asking different questions about Kansas implementing Obama Care. His form letter does not response to any of them. Now he is putting out a different shorter form letter.
The Lt. Governor Jeff Coyler hasn’t even responded nor has the House Republican leadership, some of whom have been contact three times. I sent letters to my GOP precinct chair, the Olathe GOP chair, my GOP County chair and the State Chair. Only the county chair, Ron Metsker, bothered to respond. He informed me this was a “legislative matter”, an issue “for the Governor” or maybe even the attorney General.
I think Ron has missed the point. Every one of the people involve with trying to foist Obama Care on Kansas are REPUBLICANS! Brownback, and Coyler by implication, have violated their campaign promise of doing it “The Kansas Way, Not the Obama Way!” Brownback, Coyler and Praeger violate the Kansas GOP platform by voluntarily bringing Obma Care to Kansas. But it is not a GOP issue it’s a legislative issue?
No Ronald it’s an honesty issue, a credibility issue, a GOP issue and an electoral issue, if you get my drift. You the GOP leadership and the top GOP politicians think the grass roots will vote for these kind of guys. This is what got the Republicans creamed in 2008 and Obama elected in 2010. You guys sure have short memories but I assure you we citizen no longer do. See ya at the next election!
