Obituaries – Tuesday, July 5th

Mr. James E. “Jim” Keller, 74, of Salina passed away Monday, July 4th, 2011 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

He was born in Brookville, Kansas on June 15, 1937, the son of the late Everett and Clara (Breer) Keller.

He was the owner and operator of James Keller Trucking, until his retirement.  He also drove a truck for 30 years at Western Auto in Salina.

He was a member of First Christian Church, as well as a member of the Christian Men’s Fellowship at the church.

He was the husband of Virginia  (Pendergrass) Keller, of the home, who survives.
He is also survived by his daugther; Brenda K. (Scott) Siemsen, daughter and son,  Debra J.and David Haynes of Salina; daughter, Donna Townsdin of Salina;  grandchildren, Brett and Briana Siemsen, Leslie Osborn, Jami (Wes) Husereau, Heather, Rachel, and Megan Haynes, Cortney (Jason) Drayfahl, and Chelsea and Ethan Pristach; as well as, great grandchildren, Kaylie Clemmer and Wylen Husereau.

Preceded in death by his parents; first wife Joy J. Keller; brother, Duane Keller.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 on Friday, July 8th, at First Christian Church, Salina.  Burial will follow in Gypsum Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9a.m. to 8p.m., Thursday at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.  The family will greet friends from 7-8.

The family requests memorial contributions be made in Jim’s name to the First Christian Church, 2727 E. Crawford, Salina, Kansas 67401.
