99KG Country in Salina is proud to announce that it is this year’s local affiliate for the 2011 Texaco Country Showdown! This national contest provides a venue for local country singers to compete for a grand prize of $100,000!

The regional concert/contest is scheduled for July 15th at the Sante Fe Saloon, Downtown Salina. The contestants will be competing for a chance to move on to the Kansas State finals and then a chance for the national finals and that grand prize of $100,000. The winner will also have the honor of opening up for the Bart Crow Band the next night at the Sante Fe Saloon.

If you’d like to enter, registration forms are available at the 99KG Studios at 1825 S. Ohio in Salina, at the Sante Fe Saloon downtown, and also the CD Tradepost on Planet Ave. These forms must be filled out and returned no later than July 7th, with a CD or MP3 demo. MP3 Demos can be sent to Scott.woodson@eagleradio.net. A panel of judges will pick the top 10 acts to perform on July 15th. Those 10 will be required to pay a $20 non-refundable entry fee.
