LIBERAL, Kansas – An autopsy is planned on a woman found dead in a field in southwestern Kansas.

Liberal police Capt. Pat McClurg says officers were called to the scene in the northeastern part of the city Thursday morning. The woman’s name had not been released Friday, but McClurg says a 60-year-old woman had left work at National Beef and never reached home. Her body was discovered in the field by family members.

McClurg says there was no apparent cause of death, requiring the autopsy.
