WICHITA, Kan. (AP) – Wichita police say a couple found dead over the weekend apparently died in a murder-suicide.

Police say a man in his 70’s shot his wife in their home and then shot himself.

The Wichita Eagle reports that the deaths were discovered shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday at the couple’s home.

Wichita police Sgt. Dave Armstrong says police checked on the couple after their son called authorities to report that his father threatened to shoot his mother.
