Five inmates at the Saline County Jail have been charged with aggravated battery of another inmate Sunday.
31-year-old Dominic Meyers of Wichita made contact with a corrections officer about 8:30 saying he needed to leave the pod.
Meyers was taken to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment of a broken left ring finger, broken nose, and a concussion.
Following an investigation the following inmates were charged with aggravated battery. They are:
• 18-year-old Blake Nicol of Salina, who is in jail on drug charges.
• 38-year-old Kenneth Williams of Salina, who is in jail on drug charges.
• 23-year-old Zachary Payton of Ft. Wayne Indiana, who is in jail on robbery charges.
• 20-year-old Michael Wagoner of McPherson, who is in jail on warrants and probation charges
• 23-year-old Timothy Stone of Abilene, who is in jail on probation violation charges.
The five inmates claimed that Meyers had made racial comments to other inmates.
