A 34-year-old South Carolina man who was arrested Saturday evening after stealing a pickup from a Salina Auto Dealer who was working inside the dealership, came to Salina in a stolen pickup.

Salina Police were called to Rod’s convenience at 220 W. Magnolia Tuesday evening to check on a pickup that had been parked near the business since August 4th. Investigations led to the discovery that the 2000 Toyota Tacoma had been stolen recently from Steamboat Springs Colorado.

When Jason Tipler was arrested for the theft of a pickup from Sankey Motor’s Saturday evening, he was found to have had a Toyota vehicle key on him. Police say the key belonged to the truck.

Tipler will face additional theft charges in Colorado in addition to the charges he faces in Salina.
