A disbarred Kansas attorney who has admitted embezzling from the veterans whose pension benefit checks she had been entrusted to administer may have to wait a bit longer to learn her punishment.
The government and her defense filed a joint motion Friday asking U.S. District Judge Monti Belot to continue the Aug. 22
sentencing hearing for Janell Jenkins Foster while the parties iron out discrepancies over restitution.
Jenkins-Foster pleaded guilty in June to two counts of embezzlement.
A court-ordered audit in a separate case has estimated she stole $356,744 from 10 veterans.
