A new report on the health of the economy in nine Midwest and Plains states will be released Thursday morning.
The monthly report is based on surveys of business leaders and supply managers in Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma and South Dakota.
Last month’s report showed the first signs of weakness since February 2009 when the business leaders became somewhat pessimistic about the economy’s future. The August report released Thursday will show whether that continued.
