A 35-year-old man is jailed in Wichita after police say he fell asleep while burglarizing a home over the weekend.

KSNW-TV reports a couple came home late Saturday afternoon to find the 35-year-old man in a bedroom pulling on their clothing. He hid in a closet while the couple called police.

Wichita police Lt. Steve Kennedy says the man broke into the home and began gathering valuable items, but then stopped to take a shower and a nap. He apparently woke up just shortly before the home’s residents returned.

The man was facing charges of aggravated burglary and theft on Monday.
