Letter To The Post: SRS Office

Friday I took my brother to the srs office so that he could get some help for a little while until he can get back on his feet.

My brother is a vet of Desert Storm and did 2 tours in Iraq. During the last tour he got a head injury and at times he cannot work due to bad headaches.

The lady that we spoke with at the SRS office was kinda rude and my brother told her that he just needed help until he could get back on his feet.

As we waited, I was listing to about 10 men that walked into the SRS office. These men just got out of prison and were in a half way house and they were there to get food stamps. They got them, while my brother only got an appointment for the last of the month to talk with a worker.

For god sakes my brother is a vet and is being treated worse than convicts that just get out of prison. What the hell is wrong with these people?

It is crazy that our vets have to wait and wait until they can get help but our local criminals can get help at the snap of a finger.

Someone needs to change this.
