Same Song, Second Verse…

Same Song, Second Verse..

By John Fedele

Or maybe it’s the third or fourth or fifth. I know this reply will seem like the 2nd,3rd or 4th also, but it is important to keep the responses equal to the song verses. Obama has come up with a jobs bill which is filled with the same incentives, taxes, and job creations that were used in the earlier stimulus bill(s). Remember, those did nothing to create jobs or stimulate the economy. The ‘shovel-ready’ jobs were not there. The green jobs were, but have since disappeared because the companies, who received Government start up loan guarantees, have gone out of business.

As you listen to the media praise the actions of their president (after all, they got him elected) please remember, the government cannot create jobs.

The governments only income comes from taxes. Every program and bill proposed by the government that is designed to improve the economy or the standard of living, or the fair treatment of others, comes with a price tag. Therefore, some group of citizens will have their taxes raised. That usually comes down to the so called rich.

Logic should dictate, if you take money from those who create the jobs, there will be less jobs created. Likewise, in the fight to save Social Security, if you reduce the source of income revenue by lowering the tax on wages, you do nothing to help stop the bleeding. It is a political ploy to show the senior citizens how evil the opposition party is since they will more than likely not go along with that tax cut.

It is time for you, and I to seperate the wheat from the chaff…facts from rhetoric. Do not be caught up in the “feel good” rationale espoused by the media and the administration.

Read and listen critically.
