Police in a south central Kansas town are investigating the shooting death of a 2-year-old child.

Police say the child was taken the Pratt Regional Medical Center Tuesday morning with a head injury. He was transferred to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, where he died.

Names and other information about the shooting have not yet been released.
