Lawrence doctor Kimberley McKeon estimates she’s delivered about 900 babies during her 13-year career. But it wasn’t until this week that she delivered her first 13-pounder.

The Lawrence Journal World reports that Wyatt Lee McIntyre, who is 22 inches long, was sleeping soundly Friday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. McKeon said an average newborn weighs 7 pounds 5 ounces and that Wyatt weighs as much as a typical 4-month-old.

His parents — 23-year-old Crystal Smith and 27-year-old Zachary McIntyre, of Lawrence — said their firstborn, delivered by Caesarean section, already is too big for newborn clothes and diapers.
