A Manhattan therapist charged with stalking a soldier she was counseling for post-traumatic stress at Fort Riley faces a revised batch of charges.
Prosecutors have filed a criminal information charging Rachelle Santiago with criminal restraint, criminal threat, entering military property and fleeing and eluding a police officer. Santiago is scheduled for a change-of-plea hearing before U.S. District Judge Julie Robinson in Topeka on Monday.
Prosecutors say Santiago told the soldier in January that she was going to kill him, then revive him and kill him again and again. Santiago was a clinical social worker at the time, working as a contract employee at the Irwin Army Community Hospital on Fort Riley.
The revised charges drop counts from an earlier indictment for stalking and sexual battery.
