A domestic argument late Tuesday morning lands a 35-year-old man is in jail on charges of aggravated assault, domestic battery, and damage to property.

Police were sent to 1409 E. Iron around 11:15am and found a woman in her late 20s outside with a baseball bat. The woman said that Jamie McMullen tried to grab her by the throat and choke her, stepped on her foot, made threats to kill her and swung a hatchet near her that broke a shelf on computer desk.

The woman was able to get a hold of the baseball bat and hit McMullen in the head, and then took her young daughter and left.

McMullen received a 3/4 inch cut above his left eye. The woman nor her daughter were not injured.
