Helen Ann Willey

Helen Willey, 63, was released from her earthly body on September 20, 2011 to reunite with waiting loved ones in heaven after a courageous battle with ALS. She passed away at her home in Bennington, where she lived with her son and his family.

Helen was born June 15, 1948 to Tom and Ruth Powell in Newton, Kansas.

Helen will be greatly missed by her children, son Rob (Angela) and daughters Teresa (Steve), Darla, and Susan (David).

She is also survived by sisters Vida (John), Darlene (Paul), and Elda, and brother Jerry (Donita), Terry (Sandy), and Tommy (Lenore).

Helen enjoyed her grandchildren Jeremy, Chris, Lacey, Colton, Curtis, Kaitlyn, Shaun, Dalton, Drayton, Tyler, Clayton and Breanna.

Helen was also anticipating the birth of her great-grandchild after enduring the loss of her first great-grandson, Evan Paul Trostle.

She will be missed by her faithful companion, Sissy.

Helen had chosen cremation with a Celebration of Life taking place Saturday, September 24, 2011 at her home in Bennington.

Jo Lyn Bartz

Mrs. Jo Lyn  Bartz, 51, of Salina passed away Tuesday, September 20th, 2011 at Via Christi- St. Francis in Wichita.

She was born at Holloman Air Force Base, NM on August 24, 1960.  She was the daughter of  Charles T. Woodard and Jo Ann (Woolsey) Tally, and the wife of Randy Bartz.
Jo Lyn earned an assocites degree from New Mexico State University. She was a member of the First Christian Church in both Great Bend and Salina.  Jo Lyn was also a past member of the International Order of Rainbow and the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband, Randy of the home; daughter,  Darcy (Daniel) Leech of Salina; mother, Jo Ann Tally; grandmother, Grace Woolsey; and grandson Eli Ryan Leech.

Jo Lyn was preceded in death by her father; son, Dustin R. Bartz; grandfather, Donald Woolsey; brother, Robert Woodard;

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2011 at the First Christian Church, Salina,  with Rev. Greg Rea officiating.  Interment will follow the funeral at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, where balloons will be released for Jo Lyn and her son, Dustin Ryan Bartz, who passed away September 23, 2002 and is buried nearby.

Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. at Carlson Geisendorf Funeral Home.  Family will greet friends from 5 pm – 7 pm, and a rosary will be recited at seven.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jo Lyn’s name to the Make a Wish Foundation of Kansas; 2016 N. Amidon; Wichita, KS 67203.
