Bad Muffler Leads to Brief Chase And Drug Arrest

A defective muffler lead to a brief chase and the arrest of a Salina man on several charges including felony possession of Marijuana.

Just before noon Tuesday, a police officer tried to stop a 2002 silver Mustang for a muffler that was defective in the 200 block of N. 5th.

The driver of the car 28-year-old Brandon St.Clair of 1002 N. 8th would not stop and then led the officer on a brief two minute chase where speeds up to 60 mph on N Santa Fe.

St.Clair did stop in the driveway of his home, where he was arrested. A search of his car turned up a Marlboro cigarette box that had 3 cigarettes and 2 partial marijuana joints inside.

St.Clair was arrested on several charges including, felony marijuana possession due to two previous marijuana possession convictions, flee and elude, and driving with suspended drivers license
