UPDATE: Authorities Searching For Male Suspect After Attempted Child Abduction

Around 5PM on Sunday, October 23, there was an attempted child abduction in Ramona. A 12-year-old female was playing at the park when a dark complected male pulled up in a black new model Ford Mustang. The male driver told the child to get in the car and that her mother had sent him to pick her up. The child asked the male what her mother’s name was and he did not know. She then ran from the suspect and went home and told her mother.

The vehicle is described as newer model black mustang with a large red wolf emblem across the back window with the words Hide Me below it. No tag information was known. The suspect is described as a dark complected male (unknown race) wearing a red and black camouflage patterned hat. The child also stated he had a large black scab or mole on his right cheek.

Dickinson  Co and Herington PD were immediately contacted and an attempt to locate was sent to Dickinson, McPherson, Saline and Morris Counties.

The incident is under investigation.

A central Kansas sheriff’s department is looking for a man who a 12-year-old girl says tried to abduct her from a city park.

KAKE-TV reports the incident happened late Sunday afternoon in the Marion County town of Ramona.

The girl told officers the man drove up in a black Ford Mustang and said the girl’s mother had told sent him to get the girl. The girl says she told the man she doubted the story, and asked him if he knew her mother’s name.

When the man didn’t know the name, the girl ran home and told her mother what had happened.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
