The Wichita police department says seven people, including a Garden Plain teacher, have been arrested in a weekend sting operation that targeted online solicitation of minors for sex.

Capt. Brent Allred on Monday says the cases will likely be presented to state or federal prosecutors sometime later this week for possible charges of online solicitation and human trafficking. The men range in age from 25 to 59.

All but two suspects were Wichita residents, with one from Hays and another from Garden Plain.

Allred says the superintendent at Garden Plain was notified Sunday of the teacher’s arrest.

The Associated Press is not identifying the suspects because they have not been charged.
