Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 57. Breezy, with a south wind between 17 and 24 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph.

Windy and warm weather is anticipated today, as a low pressure system develops to the west.

Southerly winds will strengthen to near 30 MPH over Central Kansas, and to 15 to 25 MPH over South-central and Southeast Kansas. Gusts to 40 MPH are possible across Central Kansas.

With the strong winds, warm temperatures in the low to mid 80s, and dry air in place, elevated fire weather conditions are expected to develop this afternoon, especially over Central Kansas. Skies will be mostly sunny across the area.
