$243,000 Grant Given To Salina For Drinking Water And Sewer Project

The EPA has awarded $243,000 to the City of Salina, for improvements to its drinking water and sewer systems. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2012.

EPA Region 7 Administrator Karl Brooks said, “By paying nearly half the cost of construction, EPA is helping save ratepayers money and provide adequate drinking water and sewer systems for residents of Salina. These water infrastructure funds will partially fund the construction project which is estimated to cost $526,000.”

The project will extend the drinking water and sewer system to provide adequate service for existing housing and new housing lots. The construction will include approximately 1,800 feet of water line and 2,000 feet of sewer line.
