A 60-year-old Salina man has been charged with hostile demonstration with a weapon and trespassing, after pulling out a knife at a southwest Salina convenience store Wednesday evening.

Lawrence Sims was in the Mr. G’s Convenience store between 9 and 9:30pm talking to the clerk.

After the clerk became uncomfortable and asked Sims to leave, he allegedly took out a knife, opened up the blade and told the woman that people have to protect themselves.

The clerk became concerned and called police, who arrested Sims near the intersection of Schilling and Centennial Roads.
