A 10-year-old Salina boy needed a couple of stitches after being bit in the face by a dog Wednesday afternoon.

According to Salina Police reports, the boy went to 226 S 3rd a little after 1pm to play with children who live at that address, and he says the Husky mix dog that belongs to the family bit him in the face, when he went to pet it.

The boy was taken to Stat Care for treatment.

The owner of the dog, 20-year-old Jeffery Lance, was cited by the Salina Animal Shelter for having a dog at large. The Animal Shelter also took the dog into custody.
