Stolen Antique Postal Wall Found in North-Central Kansas

One man has been arrested and more arrests are likely after an antique postal wall stolen from a grain bin in south east Saline County was sold to an antique dealer in Cawker City.

38-year-old Jeremy Fobes of 7261 E. Schilling Road was arrested Wednesday on charges of burglary, theft, and criminal damage to property.

Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski says the wall which used to be part of the grocery store in Kipp, was taken from the gain bin in the 7200 block of E. Schilling Road from between January of 2010 and last Friday.

After media reports, the antique dealer contacted the Saline County Sheriffs Office earlier this week and the investigation led to the arrest.

According to a story in the Salina Journal, the wall came from a building that was the Kipp grocery store and post office from 1945 until 1967.

Value of the wall is placed at $10,000.
