It appears an unlocked basement door may have been the way someone got into an East Salina home between Sunday night and Monday morning.

The burglary occurred at the home of Carl Brown in the 1100 block of S. Marymount.

$18 cash from a wallet, a cell phone, a watch, an X-Box 360 game system and two controllers, and a Dell laptop computer were all reported as stolen.

The burglary was discovered when the occupants of the home found the wallet laying on the floor of the basement.

Loss estimated at $1,083.
