Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski has formally announced he is seeking a 5th four year term as Sheriff. Kochanowski says he filed for re-election on Friday and finished up filing paperwork on Monday.

Kochanowski who was first elected to office in 1996, was the Assistant Police Chief before being elected.

He will face a primary opponent. Saline County resident Bart Allen announced his plans to run as a Republican in the August primary.

Allen ran as a Democrat for Sheriff in 2008 and lost by just under 10 thousand votes to Kochanowski.
