Breakfast Bandits AMBUCS Join Chamber in Selling NJCAA Womens Basketball Tournament Tickets

The Salina Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that members of the AMBUCS Breakfast Bandits Club have partnered with the Chamber to sell tickets for the 2012 NJCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship to be held at the Salina Bicentennial Center,
March 20-24.

Salina will celebrate its 15th year as host to the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball National Championship. Each March, the top 16 women’s junior college teams from throughout the nation
arrive in Salina to compete in this five-day National Championship tournament.

The players featured at this tournament have promising futures. Athletes, coaches, fans, recruiters, and media from throughout the United States will invest time and money in our community. An estimated $610,000 in direct economic impact is generated by this event.

Over the past 15 years Salina has embraced this tournament in many ways. “We have excellent local tournament staff, sponsors, media support, facilities, hospitality, and more than 250 dedicated
volunteers,” stated Tiffany Benien, Visit Salina Sports & Events Manager. “But the thing we’ve missed is the ability to get our local community to purchase tickets and fill the arena seats. I’m very
optimistic and excited to partner with the AMBUCS towards that mission.”

National AMBUCS™, Inc. is a non-profit service organization consisting of a diverse group of men and women who are dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities.
The goal for the AMBUCS Breakfast Bandits in this partnership is to help the Salina community retain a great event that brings hundreds of thousands of dollars into the community, and at the same time utilize a portion of the proceeds of the ticket sales to allow

AMBUCS to serve more families in our community.
Paul Roberts, AMBUCS Member explains why they want to be involved, “Myself and other AMBUCS serve our community in many different ways and this is just another way we feel that we can help make a difference in a community that has always supported us and our mission.”

AMBUCS Breakfast Bandits are selling discount tickets for $8.00 January 15- March 1. To purchase tickets early and help the AMBUCS Breakfast Bandits with their mission contact Paul Roberts 785-493-4321 or proberts@sunflowerinsurance.com
