OPINION: State of the Union

By John Fedele

The State of The United Socialist States of America is close to fruition. All we need is another 4 years of the present administration.

During the past 4 years the administration has sowed the seeds of discontent. They have succeeded in pitting the poor against the so-called rich (rich being any one who makes more money than you do). They masterminded the collapse of the real estate market by passing laws that mandated those who were not capable of buying a house because of income or credit rating, should be given the loan because it was their RIGHT to obtain the American Dream.

Then it became necessary, by design, to bail out the banks and mortgage companies and fuel the war against the rich. There was no need to bail them out. They were not too big to fail, they were set up to fail.

The auto industry was set up by unions. The industry was ready to go belly up, putting thousands out of work, because of the deals they had to make with the unions over the years. Like social security, it was unsustainable, so they should have gone belly up. Again, by design, the administration stepped in and blamed the companies for being greedy, and to save thousands of jobs, the industry was bailed out…..except for the one company that did it the capitalist way. They borrowed money from other sources. That company is doing better than those the government bailed out. That company is close to paying off their loan while the government backed companies are still in debt to the taxpayers for half of what they borrowed. Mission accomplished! The poor were saved. The greedy owners were blamed the unions were saved.

Meanwhile, the individual states were beginning to feel the budget pinch. Again, unsustainable retirement programs set up by unions were breaking the states coffers. If the administration could stir up enough discontent in the states, then unification of the country under a socialist regime could be achieved. Enter the Occupy Crowd, the Recall Crowd, and the media to continue the march toward Socialism.

Tonight the administration will present The State of The Union Address. It will be a re-election bid, pure and simple. It will be used to stir up further discontent of the so-called poor, by promising the so-called rich will pay their fair share. We will be told of new industries and manufacturing, but the catch will be those entities will be connected to Green Technology. Self-sufficient energy will also be promised, but again attached to Green Technology. Meanwhile, jobs will be created, but not as many as could be if the administration would cut its ties with the environmentalists. Finally, there will be the case for every American child to attend college. Loans will be forgiven or paid for by the rich (who oddly will be the employers of those who graduate from college). The problem with every child going to college is, most will not finish and most who do will not have a marketable degree that will help develop the nation.

The sad thing is, there are now more so-called dissatisfied Americans than those satisfied. Normally, that would not be a good thing for the administration. However, this administration has created these dissatisfied voters by blaming our economic system. In other words, it’s the fault of Capitalism.
