Smoky Hill Museum : New Exhibit Looks at Innovation

The Smoky Hill Museum’s newest exhibit, Then and Now, showcases how innovation has transformed our culture and our daily life, from the
1800s to present day. The exhibit opens February 21 at the Smoky Hill Museum.

The difference between then and now is innovation. Many items we take for granted every day were once revolutionary for their time. Take the
iron. What seems like a simple heat-generating appliance required metallurgic experimentation to develop a wire that could stand up to the
intense heat needed.

Come take a look at some of the innovations that have helped make our lives easier and more enjoyable with the new exhibit Then and Now
opening February 21 at the Smoky Hill Museum. Here you will see how innovation has affected home, office and play over the past century.

The Smoky Hill Museum is a nationally accredited history museum, in the heart of downtown Salina, Kansas. This FREE museum is open
Tuesday-Friday 12-5, Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 1-5. Also, be sure to stop by the Museum Store for a wide variety of regional and Kansas products,
