One man was taken to a Wichita hospital after a car-pedestrian accident at 17th & Lorraine Tuesday afternoon.
According to Hutchinson Police, Doug K. Engle was crossing 17th, just to the west of Lorraine. He was struck in the inside lane of the westbound lanes by a red 1999 GMC Jimmy SUV operated by 24-year-old Brian David Bonebright of Hutchinson.
Engle was transported to Via-Cristi St. Francis Regional Medical Center for possible head injuries and severe shoulder injuries.
Engle was knocked into the air according to witnesses, and then landed on the westbound lanes of the roadway.
