Has anyone ever read the Kansas Constitution? I did, its very much similar to the US Constitution. Now just why did I read it?
Well I was curious what the rights of Kansans were to protect themselves, in particular with firearms. As a good number of gun owners know and CCW permit holders even more so, is that there are so many buildings, cities, counties that have separate “regulations” its sometimes difficult to always be in compliance.
SO I wanted to see what our rights ARE…..
4. Individual right to bear arms; armies. A person has the right to keep and bear arms for the defense of self, family, home and state, for lawful hunting and recreational use, and for any other lawful purpose; but standing armies, in time of peace, are dangerous to liberty, and shall not be tolerated, and the military shall be in strict subordination to the civil power.
Now how can I defend myself/family if I have to leave my weapon locked up before I enter a store with a NO GUN sticker? Lets face it, crime is going up, the economy is bad, people do dangerous things and the law abiding citizen seems to be at a distinct disadvantage.
After reading the rights as defined by our Constitution, it sure does seem like a number of the laws are contrary to our rights. AND YES, RIGHTS TRUMP LAWS.
