OPINION: Brownback Care and Brownback’s Illegal Alien Jobs Bill

Brownback’s Legacy: Brownback Care and Brownback’s Illegal Alien Jobs Bill

This morning at a press conference Brownback refused to say whether he would support the Illegal Alien Jobs bill proposed by his Sec. of Agriculture and the Chamber of Commerce. He also refused to say if the Ag Secretary was “off the leash” on the Illegal Alien Jobs bill.

This is classical Brownback. He does not feel an obligation tell his bosses (“We the People”) about what position he has on any issue. Leading up to the 2007 Great Amnesty bill (the Teddy Kennedy, John McCain and George Bush immigration bill) I called his office every other day for two weeks but the good Senator could not make up his mind how he was going to vote on that highly controversial bill.

His vote on the Great Amnesty bill is what earned him the moniker of “Senator Switchback” from commentator Michele Malkin. In the span of ten minutes Brownback first voted for the open borders bill and then when he saw it was going down in flames he ran down to and changed his vote. Not very principled or honest.

He does pass Gov. Perry’s “soft heart” test.

Now in addition to Brownback Care we are going to get the Brownback Illegal Alien Jobs bill. Brownback is inapposite of representative government and for what conservatives stand.
