Alcohol Check Turns Up No Violations Saturday Night

If someone under the age of 21 were trying to buy alcohol in Salina and Saline County Saturday evening, they most likely went away empty handed.

Sheriff Glen Kochanowski said Monday morning that two agents with the Kansas Alcohol Beverage Control office, a deputy and three undercover operatives under the age of 21, went to 27 establishments that serve alcohol in Salina and Saline County.

Not a single location would sell alcohol to the under cover operatives.

Sheriff Kochanowski says each business that was checked, will receive a letter to congratulate them for not selling alcohol to minors.

The funding for the alcohol check was paid for with a  grant from the Central Kansas Foundation.
