Habits are a tough thing to change, and for Salina drivers use to making left turns at the intersection of Ohio and Crawford before the road construction began, not changing those habits has become costly.
Even with several signs alerting drivers to the fact that making a left turn is not allowed while the intersection is being rebuilt, Salina Police are issuing several tickets every day for left turns.
Police Captain Mike Sweeney says the fine is $155 , that is $100 for the fine which is doubled because of the construction zone and $55 for municipal court cost.
The reconstruction of the intersection is expected to be completed by early May.
