The glare of the sun played a part in a couple of crashes early Thursday morning.
At 7:40 am 65-year-old Harish Gandhi, of Salina, rear-ended a moped ridden by 28-year-old Kyle Hanson, of Mankato, as Hanson was making a left turn into a drive on Waterwell Road just east of 9th Street.
Gandhi, who was cited for following too close, said he was moving the visor in his car when he struck the moped.
Hanson was taken to Salina Regional Health Center for minor injures. He was treated and released.
About 8:30 am 18-year-old Zachary Lowers was eastbound in the 400 block of W. Kirwin, when he struck a parked Saline County Sheriffs pickup parked in front of the home of an off duty deputy after being blinded by the sun.
No one was injured but there was significant damage to both pickups. The wreck was investigated by the Salina Police Department.
