According to a recently released health rankings study, Saline County is one of the least healthy in comparison to other counties in Kansas.
The study, compiled by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, is based off of a multitude of factors including smoking, inactivity, obesity, rate of uninsured, physical environment and social/economic factors.
Saline County ranks 75th with surrounding counties ranking as much healthier. Ottawa County is 8th, McPherson is 11th, Dickinson 18th, and Ellsworth 19th.
Riley County and Johnson County are the two healthiest counties according to the study.
